Compare bagged and bulk gravel after combining your areas
- Create materials using your supplier’s density, allowance, bag size and optional prices. Set bulk order units, minimum quantity, increment and delivery fees.
- Add non-overlapping rectangular, circular or measured areas and their depth. Select explicit metric or imperial units and assign a material.
- Calculate combined demand per material before rounding purchases. Compare whole bags, bulk volume, surplus and known costs, then export the assumptions and report.
A small rectangular gravel bed
A 5 × 2 m area at 5 cm depth needs 0.5 m³ net. With 10% extra and an assumed 1,600 kg/m³ density, demand is 0.55 m³ or 880 kg: 44 bags of 20 kg, or 0.6 m³ ordered in 0.1 m³ steps.
An estimate, not an installation specification or live quote. Density, compaction allowance and prices vary by product and moisture. A metric tonne is 1,000 kg; a US short ton is 2,000 lb. Missing prices remain unknown, never zero.
